In a powerful display of youth-led activism, the #ClaimYourWaterRights movement, supported by End Water Poverty and Water and Climate Youth Hubs, spearheaded a successful clean-up campaign in Chitungwiza on National Clean-Up Day. The event, hosted by the National Association of Youth Organizations (NAYO), brought together community members, local leaders, council officials, and environmental advocates to address water pollution and promote climate action.  The campaign, held in collaboration with the Chitungwiza Municipality, saw the participation of key stakeholders, including the Deputy Mayor, local councilors, and community leaders. Together, they worked alongside young volunteers to clean up public spaces, waterways, and other areas affected by waste and pollution. The initiative highlighted the critical role of youth in driving environmental sustainability and advocating for water justice. The #ClaimYourWaterRights movement, a global campaign supported by End Water Poverty, aims to ensure access to clean water and sanitation for all. In Chitungwiza, where water scarcity and pollution remain pressing issues, the clean-up campaign served as a platform to raise awareness about the importance of protecting water resources and holding authorities accountable for sustainable water management.
