NAYO Hosts Policy Breakfast Meeting with the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Environment

On Monday, September 30, 2024, the National Association of Youth Organizations (NAYO hosted a Policy Breakfast with the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Environment as part of the Urban Futures Project, in conjunction with Green Governance Zw and Manica Youth Assembly, with support from Hivos. The breakfast meeting was attended by four members of the Portfolio Committee on Environment, Climate, Tourism and including the committee Chair, Honourable Sam Matema, Hon. Susan Matsunga, Hon. Richard Ziki, Hon Trymore Kanopula, and food justice and climate activists. The meeting aimed to introduce the Urban Futures Project, increase parliamentarians' understanding of youth's role in food systems, and the climate fight, facilitate constructive discourse, and explore ways youth can influence national policy. A Policy Paper will be produced from the outcomes of the meeting to guide the next steps.
