CSO Consultations on GPEDC Indicator Two on CSO Enabling Environment

NAYO and NANGO in collaboration with other Focal Points selected by the Government namely the Zimbabwe Informal Chamber of Informal Economy (ZICEA) conducted 6 CSO Consultations in Zimbabwe as part of the 4th Monitoring Round.


The CSO Consultations have engaged 226 CSOs drawn from the ten provinces of Zimbabwe. The CSOs represented diverse sectors that included: youth, the church, women, the health sector, culture, and arts sector, the environment sector, children or child rights, the education sector, organizations of persons with disability, governance and elections sector, humanitarian sector, resident associations, labor, research and advocacy think-tanks, faith-based organizations, community-based organizations, social justice organizations and movements, students’ unions, and CSOs in the legal sector.


The meetings provided a platform for local CSOs to reflect on CSO Enabling Environment and gain knowledge on the 4MR. Each CSO Consultation Meeting was facilitated through World café and process facilitation methodology to enhance participation and ensure consensus in harvested input. CSO inputs were validated among the participating CSOs. Each meeting produced a data set for Indicator Two on CSO Enabling Environment.
